There were not too many positives for Chelsea to take from their 2-2 draw with Burnley over the weekend.

Despite going in front twice, Chelsea could only secure one point in the end.

Burnley also played the entire second half with 10 men after Lorenz Assignon was sent off towards the end of the first 45 minutes.

It makes Chelsea’s draw with Vincent Kompany’s men an even more disappointing one.

However, there was one positive for them to take away from the game: Cole Palmer. The 21-year-old, who is now Chelsea’s best player in the eyes of Mauricio Pochettino, scored both his side’s goals. And Garth Crooks has now had some interesting things to say about him.

Cole Palmer could have ‘wings clipped’

Palmer’s first goal was a panenka penalty, which impressed Crooks and many others.

After watching the attacker calmly dispatch past Arijanet Muric, Rangers legend Kris Boyd described him as a “class act”.

It showed confidence, but Crooks does not think every player is going to take a liking to the amount Palmer is currently displaying.

In his BBC Sport Team of the Week column, the former Tottenham Hotspur forward said: “The way Palmer dispatched his penalty showed he has supreme confidence in his own ability. But his dinked finish was bordering on ‘taking the Michael’ and players have a way of dealing with that. If he’s not careful he may have his wings clipped.”

Cole Palmer should not change

There is nothing wrong with a bit of arrogance in football, something Palmer has shown with his latest penalty and some of his celebrations this season.

If the England international delivers, which he has done in the current campaign, then there is not a problem really.

Following his £45m move from Manchester City, Palmer has scored 16 goals and provided 12 assists in 35 appearances for Chelsea.

How can you stay humble with a record like that?
