One Chelsea star could find himself playing in a new role in the near future.

Chelsea have quite a few versatile players in their squad.

For example, this season, Levi Colwill has started at both centre-back and left-back, while Cole Palmer has played on the right, behind the striker and up front.

Wherever Palmer has played in the current campaign, the 21-year-old has thrived. In 40 appearances for Chelsea, he has scored 23 goals and provided 13 assists.

Aston Villa player Morgan Rogers recently shared how proud he is of his friend after his performances this term.

Chelsea star could change position

Another member of Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad who has shown versatility this season is Nicolas Jackson.

The Senegal international is a striker but has also played on the left, which could be his new position going forward.

Discussing Jackson on his Substack, journalist Simon Phillips wrote: “Some at the club believe that Chelsea might need and could even push to bring TWO new strikers, with club insiders also feeling similar to us, that Nicolas Jackson can and could play as a left winger moving forward.”

He has scored 13 goals in 39 appearances for Chelsea this season.

Kai Havertz outperforming Nicolas Jackson in the Premier League

Kai Havertz was the man leading the line for Chelsea before Jackson. The German, of course, moved to Arsenal, where he is now thriving.

He scored two goals against his former club last week and netted in the north London derby versus Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

In total, Havertz has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in the Premier League, which is more than what Jackson has managed this term.

However, the Germany international has played four more games than the £32m forward.

Havertz became one of Chelsea’s biggest sales when he left Stamford Bridge for the Emirates last summer.
