Neymar could reportedly be the next high-profile star on his way to Saudi Arabia after Al Hilal missed out on Lionel Messi to Inter Miami.

The Saudi Pro League outfit were desperate to bring the World Cup winner to the Gulf nation on a free transfer.

But the 35-year-old, who will be departing Paris Saint-Germain after two seasons, confirmed earlier in the week he’s making a switch Stateside.

And according to CBS Sports, Al Hilal are now turning their attention to Messi’s close friend and current teammate Neymar.

The news outlet has claimed that the Blue Waves would be prepared to pay up to £38million to secure the Brazilian’s services.

PSG would be willing to part ways with the 31-year-old, but it remains to be seen what their valuation is of the player.

It has been said that there have been no talks yet between Al Hilal and Les Parisiens, though a senior delegation from the Saudi side flew to the French capital on Friday to speak to Neymar’s representatives.

Should Neymar agree to swap Europe for Asia, he would be in line to match Al Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo’s £177m yearly salary.

Neymar has two years left on his contract at Parc des Princes, but there is no suggestion that he will look to extend his stay.

And after another injury-ravaged season which restricted him to just 20 Ligue 1 appearances, a move away this summer is a real possibility.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with Neymar, but he could decide to become the next marquee player in Saudi Arabia.

After Ronaldo joined Al Nassr at the start of the year, his ex-Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema has signed for league champions Al Ittihad.

And Chelsea icon N’Golo Kante could follow the Los Blancos legend to the club when his contract at Stamford Bridge expires later this month.

Wilfried Zaha, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexis Sanchez, Mauro Icardi and Riyad Mahrez are also all rumoured to be wanted by Saudi clubs.
