Chelsea attacker Mykhailo Mudryk showed absolutely nothing during his performance in the League Cup final defeat against Liverpool on Sunday.
That is according to talkSPORT pundit Darren Bent.
The dissection of Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool at the weekend continues, this time Mykhailo Mudryk has been singled out for criticism.
Despite not starting the cup final at Wembley, Mudryk still had the whole of extra-time to try make an impact.
Unfortunately, the £100,000-a-week attacker (Spotrac) did very little during his substitute performance.
WhoScored data recorded that Mudryk didn’t attempt a single shot during his cameo on Sunday.
Darren Bent has delivered a pretty brutal verdict on Mudryk following the weekend:

“Whoever gave the green light for the Mudryk transfer for that amount of money deserves to be sacked. He came on and had no impact,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“When he came on I thought, ‘oh this might be his moment’ – a big pitch, Liverpool getting tired. His biggest attribute is his pace and he showed absolutely nothing.”
Mykhailo Mudryk struggling
There’s been a few times this season when there’s been some optimism around Mudryk. However, the Ukraine international is currently quiet after falling down the Chelsea pecking order.
He’s fallen right out of favour so far in 2024, so perhaps you need to cut him some slack because it’s impossible to find any rhythm right now. On the flip side, he’s simply got to make more of an impact when he’s actually on the pitch.
Mudryk’s got so many fantastic physical and technical aspects to his game, but he’s struggling to piece it together with any end product.
Speaking on talkSPORT recently, Adrian Durham suggested that Pochettino needs to take some blame for Mudryk’s recent decline.
