The Tartan Away swept Cyprus aside 3-0 before securing one of their biggest results in recent years with a 2-0 victory over La Roja.

Scotland already have a five point gap over Norway in the race to finish in the top two qualification spots.

And Norway know defeat may already end their hopes of reaching Euro 2024 having lost to Spain before a draw with Georgia.

Norway vs Scotland: What has been said?

Norway coach Stale Solbakken has not downplayed the importance of a win, admitting his side need a victory over Clarke’s men.

“We are under pressure before that game,” he admitted.

“It looks better with a win. With a loss, it looks difficult compared to Scotland. We cannot hide the fact that this is an important and decisive match.

“If we get six points from the two games, it’s turned upside down again. Then Spain is in trouble, too. Then Norway has beaten Scotland, Scotland has beaten Spain and Spain has beaten Norway.”

On Haaland, Solbakken joked: “I don’t know how much Coke or beer he has drunk.

“It is important that he gets a rest and gets over both the euphoria and the feeling that you have done something big together with your team-mates over ten to eleven months.

“Then you must be allowed to relax a bit, for 48 hours or however long it takes. It won’t be like I go into his room and give an Al Pacino speech to get him started on Saturday. It’s about common sense. Rest, sleep and tactical training.

“I have to respect that we may have to add a slightly different twist to Saturday than with another player, considering what he has been through.

“It’s not like he can’t participate in tactical training, or that he can’t “tay awake at tactical meetings.

‘He must be honest about how he feels. How affected and tired are you mentally and physically? How quickly can you process these impressions? I have no doubt that he can do it.”
