One Chelsea player has now reportedly confirmed that he is going to be fit to take part in the upcoming pre-season training at the club.

The Blues are currently either on their holidays or preparing to represent their countries in the upcoming European Championships in Germany.

Chelsea suffered an injury crisis worse than any other side in the league last season, with a number of big-money players hardly able to make any impact on the club.

New signings were particularly hit bad by this. Both Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku were hardly able to have a kick in their first campaigns at Stamford Bridge.

However, it wasn’t just those new players who were suffering issues, with recurring problems impacting them too.

One of those was Wesley Fofana, who didn’t play a single minute after suffering a serious knee injury just under a year ago.

Wesley Fofana confirms pre-season return

Despite the fact that he was pictured completing some form of personal training late in the campaign, he never joined up with his teammates at any stage.

However, Instagram page ‘TeamFofana‘ has claimed that the player has confirmed to them that he will be back amongst the squad when they get pre-season underway.

They said: “Wesley is doing everything he can to make a strong comeback for next season, with indoor exercises, ball work and running without a ball, and he will indeed be present for the pre-season with the Chelsea team at the beginning of July. We wish him all the best for his comeback!”

When fit, there is certainly no doubt the Frenchman has a place in the starting side at Stamford Bridge, however Chelsea fans have just not been able to see him enough in his two seasons at West London.

There is hope he can retain fitness and form a partnership with Levi Colwill at the back that can last for several years.
