Chelsea have a few dangerous forwards, including Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer.
In fact, the latter is actually Chelsea‘s top scorer this season, netting 12 times in all competitions.
However, speaking on Match of the Day 2, former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has claimed that Christopher Nkunku is the only reliable goalscorer in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad.
We have not seen Nkunku find the back of the net on too many occasions at Stamford Bridge this term, though game time has been limited because of injuries.
In total, the 26-year-old has made six appearances and scored two goals.
Christopher Nkunku Chelsea’s only reliable goalscorer
When it comes to scoring goals, Murphy thinks Nkunku is the only player Pochettino can really trust.
On the Frenchman, he said: “I still think he’s waiting to get Nkunku up to the level because we know he’s probably the only one who’s reliable enough in front of goal because he’s proven it for a long period of time.”

Can Mauricio Pochettino trust anyone else?
Right now, it would be unfair to exclude Palmer from Pochettino’s very short list of players he can rely on to score goals.
The England international has proven to be a very good finisher on occasions this season, netting 10 times in 19 Premier League outings.
Raheem Sterling, for a forward of his quality and considering what he accomplished at Manchester City, should also be on the list. However, his consistency really started to fade as the campaign progressed and the 29-year-old has now failed to score in the top flight since November.
As for Nkunku, his record at RB Leipzig does suggest that he is a forward who Pochettino can rely on. The Argentine just needs to try and keep him fit, which has not been easy this term.
