There is now an expectation that one reported Chelsea target will leave his club in the summer.

After a disappointing season, Chelsea could be busy in the next transfer window, though they will have to be wary of profit and sustainability rules.

The Blues are currently 11th in the Premier League table. Little improvement between now and the end of the campaign, and you would expect the Blues to turn to the market. In fact, it looks like they will do so regardless.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with several players, both defenders and attackers.

For example, it was recently claimed that the club have been offered the chance to sign Juventus’ Gleison Bremer. Further up the pitch, Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres is also another name thought to be on their radar.

Chelsea target to be sold this summer

If Chelsea want to do better next season, improving their forward line could be the way to go.

Jackson is not the finished article yet, with Steve Nicol having doubts about whether the 22-year-old is actually capable of playing as a centre-forward.

So who could Mauricio Pochettino bring in, then, ahead of the 2024/25 campaign?

Well, according to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea representatives have been monitoring Gyokeres’ performances this term.

The good news for the Blues as well is that the 25-year-old looks available, with the same outlet claiming that sources in Portugal expect him to be sold this summer in a potential £68.5m deal.

Chelsea also interested in Viktor Gyokeres’ team-mate

Gyokeres is not the only Sporting player Chelsea could sign in the next transfer window.

It has been reported in Portugal that Chelsea have already opened discussions with Sporting over a potential deal for Ousmane Diomande.

If Pochettino feels he needs another ball-playing defender, then Diomande could be his man.

As per FBref, the 20-year-old has ranked in the 96th percentile for passes attempted and the 92nd for progressive passes among centre-backs over the last 12 months.
