The recruitment drive at Chelsea to sign young future stars has been a big policy of the club’s ownership in the last couple of years. Unsurprisingly, this method is testing the patience of supporters while they wait for so many raw gems to grow into the finished article.

We appreciate the focus on the future by scouting for the world’s next potential superstars, but we certainly don’t think they’ve got the balance right.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side currently sit 11th in the Premier League table, staring in the face at another average season.

Speaking via BBC Sport last weekend, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany insisted that this very young Chelsea group is only getting better.

We have one burning question. How may of the club’s countless young signings will actually get a fair chance and make it into the first team at Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea linked with 18-year-old talent

There’s fresh reports this week linking Chelsea with another relatively inexperienced youngster, someone we’re guessing is still a way off the first team in west London.

FootballTransfers claims that Chelsea are among the group of European clubs looking to sign Bence Dardai, who plays for German second division club Hertha Berlin.

It is explained that Premier League rivals Liverpool are also eyeing Hertha’s 18-year-old talented midfielder.

The report adds that the Germany Under-18 international is currently set to be available on a free transfer this summer when his contract expires.

Apparently, there’s been suggestions Dardai could join Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, but Chelsea and Liverpool are keen on the teenager’s signature.

Who is Bence Dardai?

Promoted from Hertha’s academy recently, Dardai is a young prospect already attracting the interest of some giant clubs in the sport.

The attacking midfielder’s now played nine first-team matches since a senior breakthrough, starting only once though.

It’s a credit that the German youngster, who only turned 18 in January, is now getting first-team minutes this season.
