Chelsea seem to have identified a potential alternative to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is in Chelsea‘s sights and could become an option for the Blues if they fail to land Victor Osimhen, a report from MilanLive.it has claimed.
The same outlet also states that AC Milan are interested in Sesko as they prepare for Olivier Giroud’s possible departure.
Sesko has made 17 appearances in the Bundesliga this season and scored five goals.
Sky Germany journalist Philipp Hinze revealed on X last month that the 20-year-old has a €50m (£42.6m) release clause in his contract.
Benjamin Sesko in Chelsea’s sights
Osimhen will be Chelsea’s dream target for the summer and according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 25-year-old has already picked the Blues as his next club.
However, with nothing signed yet, there are obviously no guarantees, so it makes sense for the club to have other options. And Sesko is not a bad one.

His form in the Austrian Bundesliga has not quite translated over to its German equivalent yet, but the Slovenian is still a good forward with a lot of potential.
Sesko, who scored 16 goals in 30 league appearances last season, has time to improve at 20. At 6 ft 4, you would also have to say that he has the stature of a traditional Premier League centre-forward.
For less than £45m, Sesko could be decent business in this day and age. But going into the 2024/25 campaign, Mauricio Pochettino will probably want a more experienced and proven striker like Osimhen.
With how things are going for Pochettino right now, though, the former Paris Saint-Germain manager being at Stamford Bridge next term is far from a certainty. After losing back-to-back games against Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers, he looks to be in a bit of trouble.
