There could be quite a few big exits at Chelsea this summer, with one already being confirmed.

Thiago Silva announced yesterday that he will be leaving Chelsea after four years at the club.

However, he is unlikely to be the only big departure at Stamford Bridge.

Conor Gallagher, for example, is another player who could be departing west London in the summer.

Gallagher’s contract expires in 2025, meaning that Chelsea could be forced to sell the midfielder to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing later down the line.

Chelsea’s rivals happy about player’s situation at the club

Silva is leaving Chelsea this summer and Gallagher could join him if he does not sign a new contract.

The situation that the latter finds himself in, Chelsea’s Premier League rivals seem to be delighted with it.

According to the Daily Mail, the clubs who are interested in Gallagher are buoyed by the fact that the 24-year-old is nowhere close to signing a new deal as they circle around him.

Premier League interest in the Englishman makes perfect sense, as he has proven himself in the division, especially this season.

In total, Gallagher has made 131 appearances in the competition.

Because of his experience in the division and his contract situation, then, it would not be a shock to see at least one English club make an offer for Gallagher this summer.

He has been so key for Mauricio Pochettino in the current campaign, making 45 appearances across all competitions.

According to WhoScored, he is making the most amount of interceptions per game in Chelsea’s squad.

Chelsea legend Joe Cole recently hailed him as an “influential” player. Ultimately, he is not someone who the Blues should be looking to get rid of, yet it appears that the England international could be one of the first names out of the door when the transfer market opens.
