Chelsea already seem to be thinking about potential signings that they could make in the future.
Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez is one player who Chelsea have been “scouting”, journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea.
However, according to Jacobs, the 20-year-old is probably a name more for 2025 than now.
He has been quite an important player for Bournemouth this season, making 22 appearances in all competitions. Eighteen of those have come in the Premier League.
Chelsea have Ben Chilwell, Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella for the left-back position. On paper, it looks like more than enough options, but in reality it may not actually be sufficient. Chilwell’s injury record is poor, while Colwill is a central defender and will probably start playing as one again in the near future.
Chelsea scouting Milos Kerkez
When you consider the above, it makes sense that the Blues are looking at left-backs like Kerkez.
However, they may need one sooner than 2025, while Kerkez is still quite young and needs to develop more.

Can Mauricio Pochettino afford to wait around? It will depend. If Chilwell can stay fit and the Argentine wants to keep Colwill at left-back permanently, then perhaps. But if not, then you would have to say that Chelsea need to bring in a new player for the left side of their defence.
If not Kerkez, then who else could they recruit? Well, according to journalist Simon Phillips, Ferland Mendy’s name has been discussed.
It is also being reported that Real Madrid want to sell him, so the Frenchman is one left-back the Blues could target if it is too soon to move for Kerkez.
Again, though, a lot could depend on what happens with Chelsea’s current set of left-backs. Being able to remain fit and perform between now and the end of the season could be what makes up the club’s mind going into the summer transfer window.
