Six Paris Saint-Germain players have reportedly complained to club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi about Kylian Mbappe’s latest interview.
Mbappe looks likely to leave PSG this summer after telling the French champions he will not sign a new contract.
The 24-year-old’s current deal expires in less than 12 months and PSG are reluctant to lose arguably the world’s most valuable player for nothing.
Mbappe has appeared at odds with his employers in a number of recent interviews, the latest of which also appears to have infuriated players and staff.
The France international said: “Reasons to believe it [that I could leave]? I’m a competitor, when I play, it’s to win.
“And no matter who I play with, no matter what shirt I wear, no matter where I play, no matter the year, I’m never satisfied, I just want to win. I’ll never be satisfied. I want to win the Champions League.”
Speaking about PSG’s struggles in the Champions League, he added: “I don’t know what PSG are missing to win the Champions League, it’s not a question for me. You have to talk to the people who make the team, who organise the squad, who build this club.
“I just try to do my job as well as possible. I was the best player, top scorer for the fifth year in a row in Ligue 1. Sometimes in football you face what is called a glass ceiling. That’s why it’s not a big question for me, it’s for those at the top.”
Mbappe also suggested that playing for PSG makes it harder to win the Ballon d’Or.
He said: “I think that playing for PSG doesn’t help much [to win the Ballon d’Or] because it’s a team that divides, a club that divides.”
According to Sky Sports, six PSG players have complained to Al-Khelaifi after being left upset by Mbappe’s comments.
Two of the players are claimed to be new arrivals this summer.
Real Madrid are known to be interested in Mbappe, having failed to sign him last summer, and a move looks increasingly likely.
