Chelsea have quite a young squad and you can argue that many of the young players at Stamford Bridge have improved this season.
Sitting 11th in the Premier League table, Chelsea‘s position does not really reflect that.
However, when you look at the likes of Cole Palmer, Malo Gusto and Conor Gallagher, for example, they are just three individuals who look to be going from strength to strength under Mauricio Pochettino.
Gallagher started the season as a 23-year-old, which is still quite young, and the midfielder has done so much better compared to last term.
He has now spoken about his improvement and what has helped him to become a better player during this campaign.

Conor Gallagher discusses improvement this season
With Reece James and Ben Chilwell unable to stay fit this term, Gallagher has had to stand in as captain on multiple occasions. And the 24-year-old says being forced to be more of a leader has helped him to develop as a player.
“I’ve had to step up and be more of a leader this season at Chelsea which I’ve really enjoyed and I think that’s helped me develop more as a player as well,” the Englishman was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.

“It always helps when you are performing well for your club. It is what Gareth [Southgate] and the others are looking at.
“I’ll continue to work my hardest for Chelsea and give myself the best opportunity to be in that squad.”
Conor Gallagher’s stats compared to last season
Gallagher has already scored more goals in this campaign compared to the last one despite having played fewer games.
This season, the England international has netted four times and produced seven assists in 38 matches, while last term, he scored three goals and set up just one in 45 outings.
His current average of 2.6 tackles per league game is also much higher than his previous one of 1.3 (WhoScored).
This is clearly a midfielder, then, who has got better both defensively and offensively this season.
