Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has shared that he’s seen Mauricio Pochettino can lose his temper when he needs to.
Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino is still trying to win over the entire fanbase during his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
If Chelsea win tomorrow’s League Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium, we’re guessing he’s going to have most supporters on his side.
Vice-captain Ben Chilwell, 27, has been discussing his manager before this weekend’s cup final.
The left-back’s explained the Argentine boss can raise his voice when he needs to, something he did learn in the previous game.
Pochettino was left angry on the touchline during last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City after Chilwell failed with his attempted pass to set up Raheem Sterling on a counter-attack. Journalist Bobby Vincent said on X that Pochettino was ‘absolutely furious’ with the Chilwell moment.
“Er, the Man City game when I didn’t play the ball over the top to Raheem Sterling. The ground was packed and I still heard him from the touchline,” Chilwell said, as quoted by The Sun.

“He is a very demanding manager, which is what you want of course.
“… “He knows the players he can dig out and he knows the ones he needs to put an arm around. That’s the sign of a good manager.”
Big weekend for Mauricio Poochettino
We feel like this is already a defining moment in Pochettino’s spell in charge at Chelsea.
The 51-year-old coach can bide himself some time by winning a trophy in his first season at the club.
Despite some really inconsistent form in the league, winning silverware would help vindicate the project and vision.
Let’s hope he’s got the players in the right frame of mind for this huge cup final.
