Chelsea defender Axel Disasi scored one of the most bizarre own goals you will ever see in his side’s 4-2 win against Leicester City in the FA Cup.
Chelsea were sitting comfortably after goals from Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer put them 2-0 up.
However, shortly after the restart, Axel Disasi tried to play a long ball back to Robert Sanchez, which ended up in the Spaniard’s net. Sanchez did not look too angry, though, with the goalkeeper seen giving his team-mate a kiss on the cheek following his mistake on the BBC‘s coverage of the game.
It was a moment of madness, but Chelsea were not made to pay in the end, thanks to Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke.
Both players came off the bench to score for the Blues. Madueke has not made too many starts this season, and Telegraph journalist Matt Law has said he would be surprised if Chelsea stood in his way this summer if he wanted to leave the club.
Moment to forget for Axel Disasi
Disasi will not want to look back at his own goal against Leicester and perhaps this season as a whole, as it has just not gone to plan for Chelsea.
While the Blues may now be into the semi-finals of the FA Cup and reached the final of the Carabao Cup, they are currently 11th in the Premier League.

However, if Disasi were to look back at the majority of his individual performances, the central defender could be proud.
He has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers this term. The Frenchman is winning 2.5 aerial duels per game in the top flight, which is the highest average in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad (WhoScored).
All in all, then, while it was quite an embarrassing own goal, Disasi should quickly put it behind him and move on. He has done a lot of good work for Chelsea in general this season.
