Chelsea have already been pretty busy in their attempts to strengthen the squad for next season.

The Blues have confirmed a number of signings already, including giant centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer.

He’s also been joined at Stamford Bridge by new additions Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Also, there’s a deal in place for Palmeiras’ 17-year-old winger Estevao Willian to join the club next year.

What Chelsea Have promised Tosin Adarabioyo

Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that Chelsea’s Adarabioyo was promised decent minutes for next season at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking via Simon Phillips’ Substack, Jacobs claimed: “He (Adarabioyo) certainly been promised enough game time to pick Chelsea over Newcastle United or a late hijack from Manchester United.

“It’s not going to be a back three, it’s going to be a back four under Maresca.

“The expectation is that Tosin, Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana will be fighting for two spots between them.”

What should Blues fans expect?

The Chelsea Chronicle is optimistic that Adarabioyo will turn out to be a brilliant signing, especially when you consider he’s been snapped up on a free.

Most importantly, the 26-year-old English star has good Premier League know-how from his time as a Fulham player.

He’s a quick and strong central defender that could really help improve Chelsea’s backline. In particular, he’s a real threat in the air.

There’s certainly a lot of competition in the heart of Chelsea’s defence going into next season.

Let’s see if Adarabioyo can win a starting position when he’s fighting against teammates such as Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile.
