Journalist Matt Law has claimed that Chelsea are going to sell one player who has only been part of the team for just over a year.

The turnover of players has been immense since Todd Boehly took over as the owner of the club. Only two players remain from the squad who took part in the Champions League final just three years ago.

There has been an equal amount of first team players signed, as well as young players brought in with an eye to the future.

They have smashed their transfer record twice since the American took over as owner of the club, bringing in both Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in consecutive windows.

However, all these players coming in make it impossible for all of them to succeed, and this looks as if what the future holds for David Datro Fofana.

Chelsea going to sell David Datro Fofana

Now, Law has told ‘London is Blue’ that he believes the striker is one of those who will be sold to make way for others to come in.

He said: “I’ve been told a lot of players will go; Casadei might go, and Datro Fofana will go, whether on loan or permanent. I think they would accept bids for Cucurella; whether they’d get any, I don’t know. Maatsen will go; he’s part of the Duran thing with Villa. I do think Chalobah will go.”

The forward enjoyed a productive loan spell at Burnley in the second half of the season, however Vincent Kompany’s side at the time were always doomed for relegation.

Fofana described as ‘very fast’

The Belgian did describe him during his time at Turf Moor as ‘very fast’, suggesting his skillset could make him a real asset to a top side.

With plenty of reports saying that the Blues are looking at bringing in a new young striker, such as Jhon Duran, there is a very real suggestion there is no future for Fofana at Stamford Bridge.

The goal will now be on making sure they don’t lose money on what was a relatively modest fee for a player in this market.
