On a fateful day, Laurie McHugh’s Audi collided with a large tractor-trailer on Durham Road (Route 413), close to Upper Mountain Road, a little after 1 p.m. The collision resulted in substantial damage to the front of Laurie’s vehicle and moderate damage to the tractor-trailer.

Following the incident, both the truck driver and Laurie McHugh were taken to St. Mary Medical Center. Although the truck driver was later released after receiving medical care, Laurie McHugh unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Her passing has left the community in a state of shock and deep mourning.
