50 Cent announces Australian leg of his The Final Lap tour after selling out shows in London and New York

50 Cent will visit Australia for his next international tour.

The American rapper, real name Curtis James Jackson III, will play five arena shows in capital cities Down Under.

According to Perth Now on Wednesday, the rapper will bring The Final Lap to Australia to celebrate the 20th anniversary release of Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

The rapper has already sold out shows in London, New York, and Dublin. 

The tour news comes after 50 Cent revealed he and Eminem are developing a new film and TV show.

After rumors that the pair were ‘reportedly’ working on the series together surfaced online, the father-of-two took to Instagram to confirm the news in January. 

‘Yeah and you thought I was PLAYING around, Im so serious man ! this is gonna be crazy. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,’ 50 Cent (born Curtis James Jackson III), wrote in the caption of the post. 

The picture he shared showed a screenshot of an article published by Billboard reporting the news.

Earlier in the day, the star spoke about developing the show in an interview with Big Boy TV.

He said a main reason he wanted to make the show was to make sure young kids new about Eminem’s roots and his impact.

50 Cent Tour Dates Down Under

– Perth, RAC Arena, December 2 

– Adelaide, Entertainment Centre, December 4 

– Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena, December 6 

– Sydney, Qudos Bank Arena, December 8 

– Brisbane, Entertainment Centre, December 10

Ticket will go on sale via the artist’s website on Thursday, June 8, 2pm.  

‘I wanna bring, I’m gonna bring, 8 Mile to television,’ he said. ‘It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100. I think it should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.’

He continued, ‘I think it should be there for his legacy, because if you don’t see… it’s important to me that they understand it, you know what I mean?’

50 Cent has been a creative force behind a number of popular shows like the Starz series Power, and its many related chapters.

He also appeared in two seasons of For Life, a crime drama that ran on ABC beginning in 2020.

8 Mile was a semi-autobiographical story about Eminem’s own rise to fame. He starred in the film as Jimmy Smith Jr, a car factory worker struggling to gain respect on the underground rap circuit.

The film won a number of awards, most notably Best Original Song for Lose Yourself at the Oscars in 2003.

8 Mile co-starred Kim Basinger, Michael Shannon and Anthony Mackie, and rappers Xzibit, Proof and Obie Trice had small roles in the project.
