‘They’re really scraping the barrel’: Britain’s Got Talent recycles stripper act Forbidden Circus of Men EIGHT YEARS after original performance

Britain’s Got Talent recycled the same stripper act from eight years ago on Saturday night’s show.

Forbidden Circus of Men originally appeared on the series under the name Forbidden Nights.

While they impressed and shocked Amanda, Alesha, Simon and Bruno, they did the same in 2015.

Although the dancers were different in the new series, the same choreographer Leigh Coda featured in both routines, a source told the Sun.

The source added: ‘The surprised reactions seemed a bit hackneyed, especially as the judges have seen it all before.

They continued: ‘Producers must be running out of acts. It feels like they’re really scraping the barrel.’

A Britain’s Got Talent spokesman said: ‘The show is open to all, regardless of if an act has auditioned before.

‘This act was featured with a different cast, doing a different routine and thrilling the audience and the judges.’

It comes after it was claimed last year that one in four Britain’s Got Talent acts are ‘recycled’ from other shows or have links to Simon and other show talent.

Of the 60 acts that were shown on television in 2022, 15 had either appeared on another series from the Got Talent franchise, were linked to head judge Simon or someone else linked to the shows, or were already ‘professional’, according to The Sun.

The likes of American singer Loren Allred, 32, is the voice of the hit song Never Enough from the 2017 film The Greatest Showman, while soul singer Mel Day, 77, achieved chart success as the lead vocalist of J.A.L.N. Band in the US and UK with 1976 track Disco Music (I Like It).

Meanwhile, Titan the Robot appeared on BGT hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s show Saturday Night Takeaway in 2021, while strongman JD Anderson was featured on their programme Red and Black, with the US muscleman also auditioning for Simon on America’s Got Talent previously.

French dance troupe Les Sancho previously finished third on their home country’s version of BGT, called La France A Un Incroyable Talent, after achieving the Golden Buzzer on the show.

However, A TV source told MailOnline at the time: ‘It would be unfair to say these contestants are household names. Some have had an element of success, but you’d still have to look them up to know who they are.’

While another source told MailOnline at the time: ‘Lockdown was tough for everyone. The entertainment industry was on pause for the last two years.

‘So we shouldn’t punish these people for trying to better themselves and utilise every platform on offer to showcase their talent.’

A Britain’s Got Talent spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘All acts enter the competition with the hope of elevating their career to the highest level and help to reach massive new audiences which Britain’s Got Talent brings in.

‘As we’re all aware, the pandemic affected so many lives, particularly those that work in the entertainment industry, and it is wrong to deny these people the opportunity to showcase their talents and entertain the nation, and ultimately perform in front of royalty at the Royal Variety Performance.

‘As has always been the case, Britain’s Got Talent is open to everyone.’
