The drama-filled weddings episode of Love Is Blind aired on Friday and finally revealed which couples said ‘I do’ and which said ‘I don’t’ in explosive scenes.

The first wedding saw Kwame Appiah and Chelsea Griffin overcome their ups and downs on the Netflix reality TV show and sweetly say ‘I do’ at the altar.

The couple were over the moon as they celebrated their marriage, with their friends and family leaping out of their seats to cheer as they showed their support.

But Kwame later took to his Instagram to defend their relationship after he claimed fans had said they have ‘no chemistry’ and criticised them for tying the knot.

In an impassioned post, he hit back at the criticism and said although he didn’t ‘blame’ viewers for thinking their romance was fake, there was plenty that went on behind the scenes.

Sharing an array of smitten snaps of him and Chelsea, he wrote: ‘All of this content was taken during our engagement, when the big cameras weren’t on us.

‘We got to enjoy life, and communicate, in the ways that feel most natural to us. Just a quick response to anyone saying ‘they have no chemistry’, or ‘they don’t even love each other’.. based on what you saw, I don’t blame you for thinking that.

‘But actually, we had the MOST fun together falling in love!’

His gushing post and comments from his Love Is Blind co-stars also hinted that Kwame and Chelsea are still together, after their wedding was filmed in May 2022.

His co-star Brett Brown described their relationship in the present tense as he penned: ‘Beautiful post Kwame!

‘What is shown on tv is such a boiled down version of all of our relationships for the good and bad. Glad you’re showing your relationship on your terms.’

She declared: ‘I have been preparing my whole life to marry a man like Kwame.’

During the ceremony, she told her nervous groom: ‘You are the jaguar to my moon. I am the moon to your jaguar.

‘I love you and I’m ready for the most beautiful adventure of life with you as your wife.’

In a sweet moment, the overjoyed couple then both said ‘I do’ and shared a sweet kiss as their family and friends celebrated.

Chelsea and Kwame went through their ups and downs on the show, after they formed a fast romantic connection in the pods.

Chelsea quickly made her feelings known but Kwame also formed a connection with co-star Micah Lussier and shared his desire to propose to her.

When Micah opted to get to know Paul, a devastated Kwame decided to solely pursue his connection with Chelsea once more, before eventually proposing.

After heading to Mexico for their ‘honeymoon’, Chelsea was then left annoyed with Kwame as he shared a lengthy and flirty chat with Micah by the pool, but Kwame insisted there was nothing romantic there.

The pair then had difficulties deciding where they would live, as Kwame made his opinions clear on Seattle and shared his affection for his flat in Portland.

However, he insisted he would ‘compromise’ for Chelsea and relocate, despite describing Seattle as ‘overpriced’ with the pair going forward to plan their wedding.

They also had difficulties over Kwame’s mother not approving of their romance, with Kwame admitting he didn’t know if he could go forward with their wedding day without it.

However, his siblings did come to show their support for him and his sister was seen gifting Chelsea a handbag before she walked down the aisle, reducing her to tears.

Chelsea and Kwame will return to screens for Love Is Blind: The Live Reunion and reflect on their journey on the show, as well as their marriage since filming.

In a first for the show, the reunion episode will be broadcast live on Netflix, with viewers able to tune in and watch the action as it happens.

In previous years, the reunion episode has been prerecorded before being aired on Netflix after the series finale, and is usually followed by more catch-up episodes called After The Altar.
