In honor of the first day of ‘Barbie summer’ – Warner Bros. Pictures unveiled yet another pink-hued teaser for Greta Gerwig’s $100M-budget fantasy flick bringing the famous Mattel doll to life, which was introduced by producer-star Margot Robbie and co-star Ryan Gosling on Wednesday.
Prior previews had painted the Barbie-goes-to-the-real-world fairytale as very much a fish-out-water-story but, in the new trailer, it’s the Australian 32-year-old’s character who is giving two human beings a tour of her stomping grounds, Barbieland.
Barbie is seen taking Mattel employee Gloria (Emmy winner America Ferrera) and her daughter Sasha (Ariana Greenblatt) around Barbieland in a pink Chevrolet Corvette, a bicycle built for three, and a boat.
‘Are we going to get small like doll size?’ Sasha asks Barbie.
‘Or are Barbies our size?’

Ariana’s character was briefly seen, surrounded by her teen gal pals in the real world, during the main trailer while scoffing at Barbie: ‘We haven’t played with Barbies since we were, like, five years old.’
And they weren’t the only humans invading Barbieland as four-time Emmy winner Will Ferrell, who plays the unnamed Mattel CEO, is seen there freaking out while surrounded by his yes men.
‘I thought we discontinued her!’ the 55-year-old funnyman screeched, pointing to fellow SNL alum Kate McKinnon’s tortured Barbie character.
Later, Sasha continues to grill Barbie about her land: ‘There are Kens too?’
‘There are many Kens,’ Barbie replied before admitting she ‘didn’t know’ their purpose in life.

The Canadian 42-year-old recalled once seeing a Ken doll his two daughters had been playing with ‘face down in the mud next to a squished lemon’ and thought to himself: ‘It was like, this guy’s story does need to be told, you know?’
Ryan – a former Disney Mouseketeer – performs an original song called I’m Just Ken, which will be featured on the soundtrack dropping July 21 (the same day as the movie).
10-time Grammy nominee Nicki Minaj and rap newcomer Ice Spice’s single Barbie World, which samples Aqua’s 1997 hit parody song Barbie Girl, could be heard throughout the new teaser.
Barbie: The Album will also feature songs from Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, KAROL G, Tame Impala, Dominic Fike, HAIM, The Kid LAROI, Khalid, PinkPantheress, GAYLE, Ava Max, and two TBA artists.
Gerwig co-wrote the first live-action Barbie film with her babydaddy Noah Baumbach and they enlisted Oscar winner Helen Mirren to narrate it.
Simu Liu, John Cena, Michael Cera, Alexandra Shipp, Hari Nef, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Emerald Fennell are also featured in Barbie, which hits US/UK theaters on July 21.
