Paul Mescal looks dapper as he joins West End co-star Patsy Ferran who beats Jodie Comer to win Best Actress at the Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards

Paul Mescal cut a dapper figure as he attended the 32nd Annual Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards on Monday afternoon.

The Irish actor, 27, looked suave as he posed up a storm at the ceremony held at London’s newest West End venue @sohoplace.

Paul – who recently picked up an Olivier Award for his performance as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire – opted for a leaf print black jumper and black trousers for the day.

The actor completed his night out ensemble with some Adidas trainers and his typically ruffled hair.

Making an appearance alongside him, were co-stars Patsy Ferran and Anjana Vasan, who opted for colourful outfits.

The trio star in Almeida’s sell-out production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Paul takes on the role of Stanley while Patsy and Anjana star as Blanche DuBois and Stella, respectively.

The play has won rave reviews from critics across the board, and Patsy managed to win the award for Best Actress at the ceremony, beating heavy favourite Jodie Comer.

The Critics’ Circle Theatre awards were founded in 1989 and are run by the drama section of The Critics’ Circle.

Paul’s appearance comes after he took a trip to McDonalds after his incredible Olivier Awards success earlier this month.

Paul larked around with his sister Nell at the fast food restaurant after the big night where he won the gong for his performance as Stanley Streetcar.

After the ceremony, Paul and Nell headed for some late night food at the chain and posted hilarious snaps from the outing.

Paul posed with his bag of food in one hand and his award in the other while still clad in his smart black suit.

Another snap saw him holding the award over his drink on the counter so it looked like it was taking a sip from it.

A different image also showed Paul proudly holding his award while at the Royal Albert Hall in London where the ceremony took place.

Earlier in the night Paul paid tribute to his cancer-stricken mother in an emotional speech as he as he accepted his Olivier Award.

In his speech a teary-eyed Paul thanked his beloved mother Dearbhla, who is receiving treatment for cancer, before adding: ‘I hope you get better.’

Addressing the diagnosis herself on social media, his mum previously told her followers that she was starting to ‘live with cancer’.

She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma which is a type of bone marrow cancer in July 2022.
