RHSLC Reunion: Heather Gay finally admits black eye remains mystery because she was blackout drunk

Heather Gay admitted she still had no idea how she woke up with her giant black eye during The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season reunion on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old reality star during the first part of the season three reunion revealed that she has been unable to explain her injury on the group trip in San Diego because she was too drunk at the time to remember.

‘It was humiliating,’ Heather said. ‘I don’t want to blackout. I don’t want to get drunk and blackout and have no memory of it. It was terrifying and it was humiliating.’

‘I wish you had said that at the moment because it caused so much damage,’ Lisa Barlow, 48, said. ‘I think an investigation was launched.’

Reunion host Andy Cohen, 54, said there was an investigation that didn’t find anything and that there was no additional footage.

Heather said when production came to her room she told them she had no idea what happened. Lisa said she wished she could have just said she blacked out because it concerned the livelihoods of people on production.

‘You’re not the first Housewife that’s blacked out,’ Andy said.

‘I have a lot of Mormon shame about drinking and I’ve already dealt with a lot of it on this show,’ Heather said crying. ‘Now it’s public, and I’m waking up with not a friend in the world with a giant black eye, and that was terrifying.’

Andy asked if she remembered Jen Shah, 49, Meredith Marks, 51, and Angie Katsanevas, 48, coming into her room. Heather said she didn’t even remember that.

‘I cannot speak to anything other than I walked to my room, and I blacked out, and woke up with a black eye,’ Heather said. 

Angie K. said she had a dark feeling that she thought Jen was somehow involved.

The first of three reunion episodes started with all women arriving in a Sprinter van except for Jen who did not attend the reunion.

‘We invited Jen to be here today but unfortunately her legal team advised her not to come today, as her sentencing has yet to occur,’ Andy announced.

Lisa said it would have been great to have Jen at the reunion so they could talk things through. Andy asked the women their thoughts after Jen changed her plea from not guilty to guilty.

‘I was surprised because all season since she was indicted, she claimed her innocence and screamed it from the rooftops,’ Whitney Rose, 36, said. ‘I honestly thought she would go fight the trial to the end.’

Lisa said she had mixed emotions.

‘Jen did what she needed to do and she did the right thing,’ Lisa said. ‘If she’s guilty, she took responsibility for her actions’.

Meredith said she was shocked. Heather said that Jen called her right before she walked into the courtroom and told her that she was pleading guilty.

‘I just felt sadness and cried and I cried with her and said ‘Good Luck,’ Heather said.

Andy asked Meredith if her relationship ever recovered after Lisa’s hot mic moment. Meredith said her issues with Lisa didn’t have to do with her ‘childish tantrum.’

Meredith said the breaking point occurred when Lisa posted condolences messages to social media that she had sent her a month after her father’s death.

‘I couldn’t understand the rationale and I thought this is not a person that wants to move forward with me in a positive direction,’ Meredith said.

Andy then asked the women to clarify the sexual rumors about Lisa.

‘I never said ”blow jobs for court side seats”,’ Whitney said.

Andy asked Lisa about how she insinuated during the show that Meredith had a pill problem. Lisa said that Jen had said to her that Meredith had been on something when they were in Zion.

‘Jen had told me that they popped some pills before…,’ Lisa said. ‘She told me that you two were on ketamine or something and that’s why I said that. Maybe it’s a b****y thing to say but that’s what I was told.’

‘It is a b****y thing to say, Lisa,’ Meredith said.

‘Well we all say a lot of b****y things,’ Lisa said.

Meredith then took out her phone and called Jen.

‘Jen, tell her how you told us that they took shrooms,’ Lisa yelled when she answered. ‘Ketamine and shrooms, cause I didn’t know what ketamine was so I had to google it.’

‘Ketamine the horse drug?’ Jen said . ‘The veterinarian drug?’

Jen denied making that comment.

‘Well you don’t tell the truth all the time so I wouldn’t expect you to now,’ Lisa said.

Lisa started sobbing and said she felt devastated last year about the state of her friendship with Meredith

‘I have been very, very sad, and I never thought it would get to this point where it was so ugly and I think the thing that hurt me the most is when you brought John into it,’ Lisa said crying.

Andy said he hoped that there was a path forward for them.

Angie Katsanevas, Angie Harrington, 41, and Danna Bui-Negrete, 35, joined them on the show. Danna said she did try to get along with Jen earlier on. The show played never before seen footage of Danna yelling at Jen.

‘You are being f***ing indicted, ‘ Danna yelled.

Danna explained that the reason she blew up was because Jen made fun of where she was living on the west side of Salt Lake City.

‘B****, she doesn’t even own a house,’ Danna said. ‘I own multiple properties while her a** rents. And if I wanted to, I could buy the house that she’s renting and evict her.’

Andy then asked Angie H. if she ever told Whitney and Heather that Lisa slept with a rich friend to get Utah Jazz basketball tickets.

‘Absolutely not,’ Angie H. said.

‘I’m actually a really big Jazz fan and I’m actually friends with some of the players, too, but I don’t sleep with them either,’ Lisa said.

Andy asked Angie K. why she thought that Jen got so upset at her for ‘taking hostess reins’ ‘ on their San Diego girls trip.

‘I feel Jen wanted me in the group but with conditions that I had to always kind of stay down here on a leash,’ Angie K. said.

Most of the women said they didn’t think what Jen did was funny except for Heather who said watching it back she did.

‘If you want to crucify me for saying it was fun, b**** move, you are going to have a really hard time surviving on this couch,’ Heather said.

‘Well it’s very apparent you don’t like me, Heather, or you wouldn’t have found that funny one bit,’ Angie K. said.

Meredith said she thought Angie K. took it to another level with Jen after she poured champagne on her.

‘I was just at my tipping point with her,’ Angie K. said. ‘I had held my composure with her. Through calling me a f***ing b****, a f***ing fake b****, a f***ing thirsty b****.’

Angie K. said she was shocked that Meredith didn’t know about how poorly Jen had been treating her and accused her of having no people skills.

‘I have very good people skills, Angie,’ Meredith said. ‘I haven’t been the one trying to get on this show for three years.’

‘I haven’t called anyone,’ Angie K. said. ‘Trying to get on the show. I’m from Salt Lake City, okay. I know people here.’

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City will return next Wednesday with part two of the reunion on Bravo.

The third and final reunion episode will air on February 8.
