Sarah recently revealed that she has been given the all-clear following her battle with breast cancer.

The TV personality shared the positive news during an emotional interview on Friday’s Lorraine alongside Billy and Raffa.

Sarah, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in August last year, gave the major health update after she revealed she had finished chemotherapy in February.

Speaking to stand-in host Christine Lampard, Sarah shared that she is now cancer-free as she reflected on her ‘rollercoaster’ journey with the disease.

Asking her about her health, Christine said: ‘Just a few days ago you were given the all-clear.

‘I know you’re always going to worry and you’re always going to be aware of your body, but to hear those words at this point is a beautiful thing.’

Sarah then confirmed the good news, saying: ‘It’s good, it’s weird. It’s kind of like they [the doctors] go “that’s it then” and that’s the end of that.

‘And you go “how do you know”, and they say ‘well we don’t, we just think so’. It’s a weird end – you feel like there should be a moment.’

Sarah explained that although she is now cancer-free, she will have to stay on medication for the next ten years and be ‘very vigilant’.

She added: ‘I mean it’s ongoing – I have to take drugs for the next ten years and be very vigilant. But it’s been a weird ride I wouldn’t wish on anyone else.’

Sarah admitted it had been a ‘rollercoaster’ but said she felt ‘fortunate’ for getting her diagnosis when she did as she praised the NHS.

‘It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride,’ she added. ‘But I feel very fortunate that I had the diagnosis that I did, and that I live in 2023 and that I’m the age that I am. So many things I’m fortunate for so I feel very blessed.’

She appeared on the chat show alongside her two oldest sons, who she shares with her husband of 19 years Graham Swift along with her younger kids Rafferty, 14, and Laurie, 12.

In March, Sarah revealed her new platinum hair was dyed by her son following her breast cancer treatment.

The mother-of-four shaved her hair after clumps fell out when she began chemotherapy last year.

After it started growing back, Sarah took to Instagram to post a series of snaps documenting the process of her hair transformation.

In summer 2022, Sarah shared the news that she had received a breast cancer diagnosis after finding a lump, which led to a biopsy.

She was told the cancer had not spread and ‘there is an 80 per cent chance of a cure’.

The star’s mother Ann had breast cancer which spread to her brain and she died aged 39, when Sarah was just ten years old.

Sarah admitted that she had ‘a little bit of a breakdown’ in the consultation room, but explained to the nurse: ‘You don’t understand. I have waited 40 years to hear those words. I knew I was going to hear it one day.’

Explaining how she spent decades worrying about cancer on Loose Women, Sarah said: ‘My mum died when I was ten and I’ve just always assumed that I would get breast cancer.

‘Anyone else who’s lost a mum would feel this – she died at 39 so when I got to 39, I was like, “Here it is, this is it, this is the moment.” And then I got to 40 and was like, “Oh no, that wasn’t it – that’s not it!”

‘So 40 was a bit of a bumpy moment, because I wasn’t sure what you do at 40 when you’re not dead. Then life went on and then I hit 50 and then I was diagnosed, and I thought, “Oh there it is. It was just waiting.”‘
