Sarah Michelle Gellar marked her longtime pal Shannen Doherty‘s 52nd birthday by posting a series of their silliest memories together to Instagram on Wednesday.
While looking back at some fun times over their friendship, which spans more than three decades, the actress, 45, posted snaps of them goofing around in inflatable suits and laying side by side on a mechanical bull pool float.
Other snaps showed Doherty holding the base of a half-filled champagne flute between her teeth as she tipped her head back to pour the drink into Gellar’s mouth.
‘It’s your birthday @theshando so in honor of you, here is a slideshow of some of more ridiculous stunts (swipe right) Any suggestions for new ones?’ the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress captioned the slideshow.
Under the post, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star cheekily replied: ‘@sarahmgellar we sure are drinking a lot in these photos!! I love you S!!’

Doherty’s Charmed costar also praised the performer on another year around the sun over Instagram.
In 2020, Doherty, who is still working, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer.
A year after revealing her health battle, she told fans she is ‘fighting to stay alive’ and refusing to miss out on friends, family and work in the process.
‘I never want to operate [like I’m dying],’ she told ET, at the time. ‘I just want to operate as I don’t have things to check off because I’m going to keep fighting to stay alive.’
Shannen – who is best known for her roles in Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed – is spending ‘a lot of time with friends and family’ and continuing her work as an actress.
‘A lot of people who get diagnosed with Stage IV, they sort of get written off. It’s assumed that they cannot work or they can’t work at their full capacity, and that is not true,’ Doherty explained.
She added that she surprisingly finds acting ‘more fulfilling.’
‘That is something that I would really like for people to stop assuming and give us a chance to prove them wrong,’ Shannen said.

Fighting hard: In 2020, Doherty, who is still working, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer
Doherty and Gellar have impressively maintained their close friendship since meeting in the nineties while shooting their respective shows on The WB, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed.
During an interview with People, Gellar gushed that they still ‘talk every day’ and that she has learned ‘so many’ more recipes from Doherty than her own husband Freddie Prinze Jr.
‘It’s funny, my husband always says that you always learn better from your friends than your spouse,’ the Foodstirs co-founder told the magazine.
He continued: ”He’s this amazing chef but I never learned from him, because I get so nervous and frustrated and he gets frustrated with me. I’ve learned so many recipes from Shannen during quarantine, because she’s much more patient with me in the kitchen.’
Both Sarah and her man have published cookbooks – Stirring Up Fun with Food in 2017 and Back to the Kitchen in 2016.
