Taylor Swift has announced two more Australian concerts after millions of eager fans missed out on tickets during pre-sale.

The US pop star has announced a third Melbourne show at the MCG on February 18 next year and a fourth Sydney concert at Accor Stadium on February 26 as part of The Eras Tour.

Tickets for the new concerts will go on sale when general sale tickets for the five other shows are released on Friday at 10am in Sydney and 2pm in Melbourne.

Swift will be the second ever artist after Madonna to perform three concerts at the MCG.

She will also be the first artist to perform four concerts at Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park.

The new gigs are in addition to the existing Melbourne concerts on February 16 and 17 and Sydney shows on February 23, 24, 25.

Frontier Touring says the two new shows will be the last dates added to the Australian leg of the Eras Tour, which means fans in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide will have to travel to either Sydney or Melbourne.

Tickets will be available through the Ticketek website. Prices range between $79 and  $379 or up to $1249 of Swifties want to splash out on a VIP package.

Friday’s general sale ticket release is open to everyone.

It comes after Ticketek saw record-breaking numbers on Wednesday when four million Taylor Swift fans ‘queued’ for a shot at tickets to her 2024 Aussie tour.

Just hours after fans were left disgruntled when pre-sale sold out, a Ticketek insider revealed they had all wasted their time.

Frustrated Swifties waited for hours with their browsers open believing they were holding a place in the queue, but it turns out there was never a line to begin with.

‘Everyone in the Ticketek lounge has an equal opportunity to get into the site regardless of when they have arrived,’ a spokesperson said, adding that it made the process ‘fair’.

Which means fans who logged into pre-sale 15 minutes beforehand had as good a chance getting a ticket as those who waited nine hours hunched over their laptops.

Ticketek’s official advice was to log on 15 minutes before the pre-sale started at 10am in Sydney and 2pm in Melbourne.

However, many may feel misled as the site also advised those who logged in early not to refresh the page lest they lose their place in the ‘queue’.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Ticketek for further comment.

Taylor, 33, booked just five shows across Sydney and Melbourne for her Eras Tour next year and some speculate it’s all in the name of good business.

Pre-sale tickets sold out within minutes on Wednesday as millions of fans rushed to nab their seat at the highly anticipated concert slated for February.

And Nine’s Entertainment Editor Richard Wilkins, 69, said it’d be bad for business if the pop star added more dates to her tour.

‘It’s good for her business to always have people wanting more, you wouldn’t want to have 10 shows and have half of them empty,’ he said on Wednesday.

‘That’s the modus operandi. It’s a seller’s ticket and she’s in the box seat. She has millions of fans around the world to keep satisfied.’

Ticketek informed Sydney fans at around 1.45pm via Twitter that ‘all general Frontier pre-sale tickets for Taylor Swift in Sydney are now sold out’.

They did state that some VIP Packages were still available.

However, fans should not fret as there will still be thousands of tickets available when more go on sale for the general public on Friday at 10am.

‘Make sure you’re prepared with your Ticketek account details and payment info, as there are lots of Swifties that are excited to Shake It Off this summer,’ Ticketek added.

It was a similar story over in Victoria when thousands of Melbourne fans attempted to secure their tickets at 2pm.

The Bad Blood hitmaker’s two shows at the MCG sold out in about 40 minutes.

‘Melbourne Taylor Swift show pre-sale tickets are sold out! Got into Ticketek only to see tickets were not available anymore for either dates!’ one fan tweeted.

Another cried they also weren’t having any luck trying to secure their tickets.

‘I’ve just been kicked out of the lounge for the second time, first in the Sydney presale after 4 hours (which I expected) but 37 minutes into the Melb one I’ve been booted from the page?’ they wrote.
