Vernon Kay joined pal Paddy McGuinness as they cheered on their beloved Bolton Wanderers at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The duo – who were both born a stones throw from the North West town- could be seen screaming in joy as the team beat Plymouth Argyle 4-0 to win the Papa Johns Trophy.

Vernon, 48, cut a casual figure for the outing in a plaid shirt which he layered over a dark sweater.

Meanwhile Paddy, 49, donned a dark bomber jacket and appeared to be having a wonderful time in the stand.

The Trotters got off to the dream start in London, with Kyle Dempsey heading home a corner from Declan John after just four minutes, to give Ian Evett’s side the lead.

He was in the thick of the action just six minutes later, teeing up Dion Charles with a stunning cross through the centre of the box, with the forward making no mistake to put his side two goals ahead.

They struck again just after half time with Elias Kachunga taking advantage from a Plymouth mistake, running through on goal to cooly find the top corner.

And they weren’t done just yet, with Gethin Jones, one of the smallest players on the field meeting scoring with his head to bring up the quartet of goals for Bolton.

It is the first major trophy Bolton have won since 1997 where they were crowned English Second division Champions.

Paddy spent time away from home as he travelled to South Africa’s Eastern Cape for his new latest Channel 4 show Tempting Fortunes.

Speaking about his busy schedule he told The Sun‘s TV Mag: ‘I’ve always had a sort of rule what I stick by where I never do more than nine days anywhere because I just like being at home. I think naturally you get homesick.

‘When I used to do Take Me Out, for instance, you think a bit differently because you’re in the UK, so psychologically it isn’t that bad, but Take Me Out used to take a week, So Take Me Out, weirdly, out of everything I’ve done, is the show that took me away from home the longest. 

He went on to say that even when he is travelling the globe he always makes sure to have his phone handy to keep in order to touch with his loved ones via video calls, and would find it hard to be a contestant on the show as they can’t contact their family. 

Paddy said: ‘It when you’re in the position these guys [the contestants on Tempting Fortune] are in, where you’ve literally got zero contact with your family, that’s when the chips are really down.’ 

It comes after Christine recently shared a picture of herself in a blue bikini while posting a cryptic message following the split.

The model took to Instagram this week to share the photo which was taken on a recent holiday.

She told her social media followers she was looking forward to some downtime with her children as the school holidays approach.

Christine shares shares twins Penelope, and Leo, nine, and Felicity, six, who all with her comedian ex.

In her photo, Christine could be seen basking in the sunshine as she sat by a swimming pool with her back to the camera, captioning her snap: ‘Never looking back.

It comes after Christine candidly touched on her family dynamic this week as she described embracing their differences.

Continuing to live together for the sake of their children, Christine and television presenter Paddy have been open about their co-parenting dynamic in the house.

And talking on Heart FM’s No Filter this week, Christine explained: ‘We’re not actually like any other family I know’.

She insisted she doesn’t compare herself to anyone else, with the TV personality also touching on her autism diagnosis and how that ties in with motherhood.
