Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac pranks girlfriend Rebecca James with ‘cruel’ Christmas gift: ‘That is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen!’
Sam Mac’s girlfriend Rebecca James was less than impressed when the Sunrise weatherman pranked her with a ‘cruel’ Christmas gift.
The couple travelled to Melbourne with their newborn daughter Margot to mark the special occasion.
But Sam, 40, decided to prank Rebecca by gifting her a ‘creepy’ elf he brought from their home.

In a video shared to Instagram, the TV star said: ‘We’re about to drive from Sydney to Melbourne for Christmas, and there’s an extra passenger. Bec thought she’d seen the last of this guy. He’s coming with us.’
Rebecca is then seen opening up her gift as Sam says: ‘It’s something very special, very dear to your heart.’
‘Seriously? How the hell did this make it to Melbourne? I think it needs to go back in the box,’ a stunned Rebecca said.

Many of Sam’s unimpressed fans reacted to his prank, with one writing: ‘Now that’s just bloody cruel Sam. Rebecca paybacks, just remember paybacks.’
