He chipped in with a whopping 52 goals in 53 games in all competitions in his debut campaign for City – smashing a number of records along the way.

There were fears that the ex-Borussia Dortmund marksman may find it hard adjusting to Guardiola’s style of play – but he silenced the doubters in the perfect fashion.

Still, it appears Haaland hasn’t convinced everyone that he has got to grips with Guardiola’s demands.

A reporter from Norwegian news outlet TV 2 asked the City boss at a press conference in Asia about whether Haaland still needs to adapt and how long will it take for him to be his ‘perfect striker’.

To which Guardiola said: “I would say that Erling Haaland adapted quite well to Man City, when you score more than 60 goals.”

He then showed his confusion to the question by staring in amazement at the journalist, before simply saying: “F***.”

The former Barcelona manager added: “He adapt really, really quick and really good, so it’s not any issue about that.”

Then pressed by the same reporter at whether Haaland can develop even more, Guardiola remarked: “Yeah of course, he’s 23-years-old.

“He has the desire to improve in many aspects.”

Guardiola continued: “I think he’s in the perfect environment [to get better], as a club itself, it’s perfect.

“And as much as he wants to improve, he will improve.”

Haaland will have the chance to win his fourth trophy in City colours next week when they face Arsenal in the Community Shield at Wembley.
