Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino does not seem to be too happy with constant comparisons being made between one of his players and a club legend.
Nicolas Jackson is trying to follow in the footsteps of Diego Costa and Didier Drogba, for example, after joining Chelsea to lead the line.
However, speaking before the Blues’ 3-2 win against Leeds United in the FA Cup yesterday, Mauricio Pochettino warned that Jackson cannot be compared to Drogba. The Argentine’s message was shared by Chelsea’s official website.
The 22-year-old has reached double figures for goals this season after scoring in the victory over Leeds.
It was his 10th strike of the campaign, so Jackson has certainly not been the worst signing of the summer. Nevertheless, he has still come in for a lot of criticism. Former Chelsea defender Scott Minto does not think the Senegalese forward should be leading the line at Stamford Bridge at this moment in time.

Mauricio Pochettino calls for an end to Nicolas Jackson and Didier Drogba comparisons
Being one of the best strikers in Premier League history, Pochettino says it will be tricky to find another Drogba.
On the Chelsea legend and Jackson, he said: “From the beginning, we have been talking about Jackson needing to score goals, which is okay, but you cannot compare Jackson now with Didier Drogba. Drogba was one of the best strikers in the world and it’s difficult to build another Drogba.”

Will Chelsea ever find another Didier Drogba?
Pochettino clearly does not think so, but there are a couple of centre-forwards in the game right now who share similarities with the retired Ivory Coast international.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, for example, is a pretty strong No.9 like Drogba back in the day and he continues to be heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Blues may try and sign Osimhen this summer in a similar deal to Enzo Fernandez, where they paid slightly above his release clause.
