Chelsea have seen a vast overhaul of players ever since the new ownership took over at Stamford Bridge.

You only need to look at the Blues side who won the Champions League just three years ago to see how hardly any of those players remain at the club, as well as manager Thomas Tuchel.

It has to be said though that the club have been able to get large amounts of money for a lot of the players they have sold, especially taking into account their need to sell in order to balance the books.

However, one of those who was tipped to be arguably the best talent to come out of the academy was sold last summer for just £5m.

Callum Hudson-Odoi joined up with Nottingham Forest on deadline day last summer, and did his best to prove those at the club that they made a mistake in selling him.

Nottingham Forest think Callum Hudson-Odoi is worth £40m

He contributed easily his best goalscoring season, including one against his former side in a 3-2 defeat last season.

Now, according to the Mail Online, the Premier League side have decided he is worth £40m as of now, eight times the fee they paid for him less than 12 months ago.

Despite it happening for another side, there were no doubt some who were proud to see Hudson-Odoi start to show the promise that many knew was there after his time at Cobham.

However, it is certainly fair to say that he was given ample opportunities to impress at Stamford Bridge before he was sold, and couldn’t get anything going in a loan spell to Germany either.

The Blues meanwhile are hoping that they can finally see some improvements in Mykhailo Mudryk on that left wing, with him certainly not setting the world alight since he joined the club in January 2023.
