Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has been a topic of conversation recently.
That is largely because of how well Marc Cucurella has done at Euro 2024.
The left-back helped Spain to reach the final of the tournament on Tuesday after his country beat France 2-1 in the semis.
As per WhoScored, Cucurella is averaging the second-most tackles per game in Luis de la Fuente’s squad.
Spain fans must love the 25-year-old right now, while it appears that he is also quite a popular figure in the Chelsea dressing room. Cucurella recently spoke about his success with Spain.

Why Marc Cucurella is so popular at Chelsea
Since arriving at Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022, it looks like Cucurella has been a really positive influence in the dressing room and at Cobham.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, the Spaniard is seen as a very funny and entertaining character, and that personality helps to keep the morale in the squad up.
Speaking about Cucurella on Substack, he said: “I’ve heard he’s a really funny and entertaining person to have around Cobham to help keep morale up.”
Cucurella has not been able to win anything with Chelsea yet, but he is now one game away from becoming a European champion with Spain.
Not everyone is a fan of Marc Cucurella
While Cucurella may be adored by Chelsea and Spain supporters at present, he has made some enemies in Germany this summer.
Cucurella was booed in Spain’s victory over France, seemingly by Germany fans who were at the game.
The former Brighton man was involved in a handball incident when his country faced the host nation, and it does not look like Germany supporters have forgotten about that moment.
Cucurella will not care one bit, though. He is close to winning the European Championship, with just England or the Netherlands standing in his way.
And with how Spain have played in this tournament, you would fancy them to beat whoever joins them in Sunday’s final.
