Terrifier 3 is set to bring Art the Clown back in a Christmas-themed sequel.

Director Damien Leone recently took to X to tease the opening moments of Terrifier 3, which finished filming in June and is now in post-production.

Leone hinted that fans of Wes Craven’s Scream and the 1979 Carol Kane classic When a Stranger Calls will be thrilled by the new sequel’s beginning.

Both Scream and When a Stranger Calls start with a phone call where an unseen villain terrorizes someone.

In When a Stranger Calls, Carol Kane’s character survives the movie, but in Scream, Drew Barrymore’s character is brutally murdered by Ghostface within the first 12 minutes.

Considering the Terrifier franchise is known for its graphic and practical special effects, it’s likely that Art the Clown will elevate the horror in the opening scenes to an even more extreme level.

As a direct sequel to 2022’s Terrifier 2, the new movie will see Lauren LaVera returning as Sienna Shaw and Samantha Scaffidi as the villainess Victoria Hayes.

David Howard Thornton will also reprise his role as Art the Clown, wreaking havoc once again in Miles County.

Specific details about the plot of Terrifier 3 are kept tightly under wraps now. However, the first poster and the teaser trailer have revealed that the film will take place during the Christmas season.

The official description for Terrifier 3 reads:

“In the third installment of Damien Leone’s breakout horror film, Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.”

Terrifier 3 is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.
