A man will face court today after he was charged with murdering a fellow prison inmate in Queensland.

About 6.50pm on February 2, a 42-year-old man was found unresponsive and with serious injuries inside his cell at the Woodford Correctional Centre, Woodford.

Yesterday, a 34-year-old prisoner at the same facility was charged with one count of murder.

He is expected appear in court today.

Woodford Correctional Centre is Queensland’s largest prison, with a capacity of just under 1000 inmates.

It is a high security facility for male prisoners, and is situated about 100km north of Brisbane, in the City of Moreton Bay region.
