Police were called to the intersection of Pritchard Street and Hemphill Avenue in Mount Pritchard at about 3am, where they found a man who had suffered serious injuries.
Paramedics attended but the man was declared dead at the scene.
It’s not yet known how he died.
A crime scene has been set up and an investigation is underway.
Investigators told 9News they are following all lines of inquiry but are starting to rule out organised crime links.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area this morning, though police are working to clear the scene.
