Police are appealing for public help to help identify a man they are seeking over robberies in the south-east Queensland city of Ipswich.

Officers want to speak with him over two robberies from businesses in the suburb of Springfield early this year and late last year.

At 11.50pm, on December 31, an unknown man entered a business on Woodcrest Way and threatened a staff member with a knife while demanding money.

The worker complied and was not physically injured during the incident.

The man then left towards Woodcrest Way and Commercial Drive.

On February 2, the same man entered a Springfield Parkway business at about 8.30pm.

The man threatened staff with a large wrench and demanded money before assaulting one of the attendants.

The man left the scene towards Springfield Parkway.

Police have released CCTV images of the man who may be able to help with inquiries and are appealing to the man, or anyone who may be able to identify him, to come forward.

He is described as tanned in appearance, 1.8 metres tall with a solid build, short black hair and a patchy black moustache.

He was wearing a grey or navy blue “Blues” football jumper with a NSW Blues logo on the front, black long pants, and black sports shoes.
