Neighbours have called for action to prevent another tragedy in the area, where accidents have become commonplace.

Hawksview Street resident Jemma Achi said there was an accident on the street ‘every six weeks’.

‘Unfortunately someone had to lose their life [Saturday] night,’ she told the Daily Telegraph.

‘Whenever there is an accident, all the neighbours come together and we all come running outside.’

The 37-year-old driver of the Hyundai was not injured and he was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.
