The Mormon mom who took ‘soft swinging’ too far has been arrested for domestic violence.
Influencer Taylor Frankie Paul, 28, who has more than four million TikTok followers, was taken into custody on Saturday by cops in Herriman, Utah, a southern suburb of Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake County Jail records obtained by DailyMail.com show she was booked in at 1.56am and released at 10.35am on three misdemeanor charges – assault, criminal mischief and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
Neither Herriman Police nor the city attorney’s office would reveal details of the charges.

Her boyfriend Dakota Mortensen refused to say what happened. ‘I’m not even allowed to speak with her,’ Mortensen, 30, said
‘I have yet to see the file on Taylor Paul,’ assistant prosecuting attorney Matt Brooks told DailyMail.com. ‘If it comes across my desk, I will screen it for possible charges like any other case.’
Mom-of-two Paul was part of a group of Utah couples who indulged in ‘soft swinging’ – a practice where partners are swapped but only with the understanding that they don’t have full sex.

But last year she caused a sensation when she admitted that she had broken the cardinal rule and ended up losing her husband Tate, who divorced her, and most of her friends.
Her new boyfriend Dakota Mortensen told DailyMail.com that Paul had been at a ‘Galentine’s Party’ – a bonding event for women held around Valentine’s Day – on Friday night, and he went to pick her up and drive her back to her house.
‘I’m not even allowed to speak with her,’ Mortensen, 30, said. ‘I really don’t want to talk about it but I want to clarify a few things.
‘I didn’t call 911,’ he added, saying he thinks a neighbor may have called.
Mortensen refused to say what happened after they arrived at the house.
‘I’m going to wait for everything to come out before I speak on it,’ he said.
But then he let slip, ‘She never hurt anyone intentionally.’ When pressed for specifics he said he didn’t want to elaborate.
Mortensen, a real estate agent and tiling company boss who has his own popular TikTok account where he discusses his recovery from drug addiction and alcoholism then added: ‘We didn’t argue.’
‘I don’t even want the truth to come out. She’s so broken right now. I tried to help her,’ he said. ‘She’s a good mom, she’s going through a lot in her life right now. Taylor’s been struggling, it’s been a hard year for her. She is racked with guilt on her cheating scandal that cost her her marriage.’

Taylor admitted that she broke the swinging agreement with her friends early last year, ‘I did step out of that agreement, that’s where I messed up, and I, obviously, am losing everything that I have.’
Then she suffered an ectopic pregnancy and lost the child she and Mortensen were planning to have together.
She wrote to her followers in December, calling 2022 the ‘sh***iest year of my entire life.
‘From rough marriage, to swinging, to divorce, to major loss of some family, best friends, my kids part time, trying to be in another relationship but can’t let myself be happy, to ectopic pregnancy to deep depression.
‘Meanwhile millions of people watched it all and gave their lovey opinions,’ she added.
But she did say she was hoping for a better New Year. ’23 is my number so I’m thinking next year is my year.’
Taylor introduced Mortensen on TikTok last July while still in the middle of her divorce. She and Tate have two young children, Indy, five, and two-year-old Ocean.
Their whirlwind romance lasted six months before she announced they split up after the pregnancy.
But they were soon back together again. On January 14 they appeared together in a short TikTok video called ‘Guess we don’t know any better.’
Mortensen says he thinks the arrest was a ‘rock bottom’ moment for Paul and she’ll only get stronger from it.
‘She needs help, she hasn’t had time to process the ending of her marriage. She’s having a hard time forgiving herself for the swinging scandal. And then she had an ectopic pregnancy.
‘I love Taylor very much and want to have a future with her,’ he added.
He confirmed they don’t live together and he rents an apartment about 20 miles away from her house in Herriman.
‘We’ll just have to let it go through the system and see how it pans out. I have no idea when I’ll be able to see or talk to Taylor again. It could be days, weeks or months.’

Mortensen has been featured in several videos with Taylor’s children, including some that have been shared on his account.
In a Q&A, they recalled how he recently met her ex-husband Tate, who is also understood to be in a new relationship. They noted that Tate is a nice guy and it went well.
Taylor previously noted that she and Tate had other issues in their marriage before they separated, but the swinging scandal ‘was like the tip of the iceberg.’
‘Tate has made out with several girls and [done] other things, and I’ve made out with all of the husbands and [done] other things,’ she added.
She refused to name names, but she stressed that fans could easily figure out which couples she was referring to in the TikTok Live.
Taylor made it clear she had nothing to lose, saying she and Tate told their families everything that had happened. She admitted her parents were ‘disgusted’ by the revelation.
She insisted that she has proof of her swinging claims in the form of videos and texts if she ever needs it.
Taylor also alleged that there are ‘three divorces in the friend group,’ but one of the breakups is not related to the swinging situation.
‘They’re going to deny it, and that’s fine,’ she said. ‘I’m speaking my truth, and they can speak theirs.’
