The Arrest and Investigation
According to the Romanian daily newspaper Gandul, the Tate brothers had been under investigation since April. The investigation began after a complaint was received that “a woman with American citizenship was being forcibly held at their residence.” Several young women were found in a building located about 500 meters from the Bucharest villa.
Investigators were informed by the American woman that she had met Tristan through a social media network and he had persuaded her to purchase a plane ticket to Romania. After the woman got in touch with her ex-boyfriend, he reported the crime to the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest.
House Arrest and Release
Andrew Tate and his co-defendants were released from jail and placed under house arrest until April 29. Although none of the individuals have received a formal indictment, Ramona Bolla, a representative of the Romanian anti-organized crime agency DIICOT, announced that they have been placed under house arrest until April 29.
According to Tate’s communications director, Mateea Petrescu, who spoke with Sky News, the authorities deemed the group as no flight risk and not a danger to public safety, resulting in their release under house arrest.
