They have the same views – at least mostly! Hugh Jackman (54) and Deborra-Lee Furness (67) met and fell in love on the set of the drama series “Correlli”. The two married a year after they first met and share two adopted children, Oscar and Ava. The couple always agrees on many things, as the Wolverine actor has often pointed out. But when it came to raising their children, Hugh and Deborra-Lee had different views!
Speaking to The Radio Times, Hugh says: “You fall in love and you manage to keep your relationship intact. That’s great and suddenly we had kids.” The 54-year-old continues: “But we had different opinions when it came to the topic of parenting. We never discussed it before either – we just assumed: ‘We love each other and we never fight, then that will happen too of raising children.’” He was raised and raised very differently from Deborra-Lee himself, Hugh explains, and their two different experiences suddenly intersected.
Hugh learned a lot from his father, says the actor. His dad passed away in 2021, which took a toll on the Australian film star. “My dad raised me and my siblings, he really instilled great values in me, ” Hugh said.
