Ally McCoist has a warning for one striker who has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
The Blues look set to enter the transfer market at the end of the season for a new centre-forward.
With Armando Broja currently out on loan, as of now, Nicolas Jackson is the only natural No.9 in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad.
He has not done too badly this season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions, but next term Chelsea are going to need more than that if they are to return to the top four.
Last month, it was reported that Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson is one striker who the Blues are currently interested in.

Ally McCoist’s warning for Evan Ferguson amid Chelsea links
Ally McCoist wants to see Ferguson remain at Brighton a little bit longer, stating that he would be concerned if the 19-year-old left now.
Speaking about him on talkSPORT (25/03/2024 at 09:45), the Rangers legend said: “I would be a little bit concerned. Evan Ferguson is a young player I really like but I wouldn’t mind him staying a little bit longer.”

Ferguson has not really been on fire recently, with his last Premier League goal coming all the way back in November.
However, the Republic of Ireland international did score a hat-trick against Newcastle United at the beginning of the season, so the talent is there.
Evan Ferguson would not be an upgrade on Nicolas Jackson
Ferguson certainly has the potential to develop into a top Premier League centre-forward.
However, he is not there yet and is not a better striker than Jackson, so the Brighton man should probably not be at the top of Chelsea’s shortlist.
Over the last year, Ferguson has ranked in the 60th percentile for non-penalty goals among No.9s (FBref), while Jackson has ranked in the 91st.
All 12 of the 22-year-old’s goals have come from open play this season.
It was recently claimed that Jackson made changes to his sleep routine and diet to aid his performances.
