Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has been speaking about Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI at Chelsea.
After watching Mauricio Pochettino chop and change his team this season, Danny Murphy thinks Cole Palmer is the only guaranteed starter at Stamford Bridge and has been impressed with him even in his side’s defeats.
The retired England international discussed the above on the latest episode of Match of the Day 2.
Palmer scored his 10th Premier League goal of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend, though it was in vain in the end.
Nevertheless, he has still been a revelation for Chelsea since joining the club from Manchester City in a £45m deal (Evening Standard) last summer.

Cole Palmer an automatic starter for Chelsea
Murphy expects to see Palmer in Chelsea’s starting XI every week.
On the England international, the BBC Sport pundit said: “The only one player really who you know is always going to be on the team sheet is Cole Palmer because he’s been absolutely terrific, even in defeats.”

Cole Palmer undroppable
Right now, Palmer is undroppable for Chelsea. He is their top scorer. The games that they have won this season have often been because of him.
The Blues have been poor this term, hence why they are currently sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Palmer, however, can be more than pleased with his individual performances. Team-mate Ben Chilwell recently hailed him as a “top player”, and that is quite a fair assessment going off this campaign.
Ultimately, Chelsea got a real bargain with Palmer and if their other signings were making the kind of impact that he has made this term, then the team would not be in 11th place.
Going forward, then, hopefully Chelsea can bring in more players like Palmer, players who can arrive and make an immediate and consistent impact in west London.
