Antoine Griezmann showed off his battle scars after being kicked in the head during France’s Euro 2024 qualifying win over Greece.
The 32-year-old was in left in a bloodied mess after being fouled with for one of the most stonewall penalties you will see.
Griezmann tried to get on the end of a cross before feeling the full force of former Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos’ studs.
Spanish referee Mateu Lahoz instantly turned to the France bench signalling for medical attention.
He then took action against Mavropanos, dishing out a yellow card when many thought it should have been a red.
Kylian Mbappe stepped up to take the penalty, and despite it being saved, it was retaken due to encroachment.
Lahoz went on to play an incredible 14 minutes of added time due to various stoppages.
The victory for France continued their perfect record Euro 2024 qualification record, with Les Bleues looking set to qualify for the next summer’s tournament in Germany.
Griezmann since revealed the extent of his wound that left him covered in blood.
In an image posted on Instagram, you can see the deep cut left by the studs on the side of his head.
