Brighton on verge of announcing James Milner and Mahmoud – Brighton are close to securing a double signing of James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud, talkSPORT understands.

Following his release from Liverpool, Milner has agreed to join Brighton, arriving as a free agent.

The Champions League winner has plenty of experience to help the Seagulls on their European journey and will be a versatile option despite being 37 years old.

Even though he’s entering the twilight of his career, the 61-cap England international has still featured in 37 games in all competitions this season.

Milner can also aid in replacing Roberto De Zerbi’s midfield stars Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister who are both expected to move on to Premier League rivals.

The Seagulls are also set to announce the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Mahmoud Dahoud.

The German midfielder will also help fill the gap Caicedo and Mac Allister leave should they seal moves elsewhere.

De Zerbi hinted that signing Mahoud was in the pipeline in May, with the star also costing the Seagulls nothing as his contract at Dortmund comes to an end this summer.

The 27-year-old only played 10 games this season due to a shoulder injury.

However he started a majority of the 30 matches he featured in for the Bundesliga side last term as they secured a second place finish in the league.

The Seagulls have already brought in Watford star Joao Pedro for a club record fee as they look to prepare for a historic season at the Amex.
