Jason Cundy was not too happy with some of the pressing in Chelsea’s clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier.
Christopher Nkunku led the line for Chelsea and Jason Cundy could not believe one moment in the first half where the forward was trying to put pressure on the opposition all by himself.
Cundy shared his observation while commentating on the game for the Blues’ official website (04/02/2024 at 14:14).
Nkunku was making just his second start of the season, missing the majority of the campaign because of injury.
Chelsea signed the Frenchman from RB Leipzig in a £52m deal (BBC Sport).

Jason Cundy not happy with Chelsea’s pressing
Cundy does not think Chelsea put enough pressure on Wolves in the first half at times.
On one particular moment, the former Blues defender said: “What are we doing now? Where is our [press]? I know, Nkunku’s there. Why is Nkunku chasing a shadow?”

Pressing not Chelsea’s biggest issue
Chelsea’s press against Wolves may have not been great, but it is not their biggest problem right now.
Honestly, it is not rocket science why Mauricio Pochettino‘s side are doing so poorly this season. They are conceding too many goals and are not scoring enough, with their latest performance against Gary O’Neil’s side showing just that.
Next term, they have got to do better in both boxes. It would obviously be great if they showed improvement in the current campaign. But at this point, does it really matter? Their season, at least as far as the Premier League goes, looks finished or will be if they keep playing like how they have been.
Pochettino’s men are still in the FA Cup — for now – and the Carabao Cup, so fans could still have something to smile about this year. But they will be depressed about what they have seen in the Premier League.
