Just like he has been for Chelsea all season, last night saw Cole Palmer step up as the best performing player for England.
The 22-year-old opened his account for his country in the 3-0 win last night over Bosnia and Herzegovina, opening the scoring from the penalty spot.
Chelsea supporters will have had no doubts over the result of the spot kick, having seen him not miss from there this season for his club.
In what was his first start for his country, Palmer continued to show the form that had seen him put in a truly fantastic individual season, especially considering it was his first playing regular football.
He was the double award winner at the club’s trophy night this season, putting him amongst the likes of Eden Hazard with that accolade.

Considering before this season he was likely miles away from being on the plane, it is a testament to how good he has become so quickly that he is now in the conversation to start for his country.
