Chelsea fans would have been happy with their west London rivals Fulham yesterday.

They beat their enemies from north London convincingly, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at Craven Cottage.

Former Chelsea forward Timo Werner played and missed a glorious chance to score, which got supporters at his old club talking.

Plenty took to X to say that the German has not changed since his time at Stamford Bridge and that he is giving them flashbacks with his latest miss. Werner really struggled during his spell in west London, netting just 10 times in the Premier League for the Blues.

“Nice to see Werner hasn’t changed,” one Chelsea supporter said.

Should Chelsea have sold Timo Werner?

Chelsea allowed Werner to return to RB Leipzig back in 2022 after a difficult spell at Stamford Bridge.

While the Germany international did help the Blues to win the Champions League a year before his exit, he was never prolific under Thomas Tuchel.

Ultimately, Chelsea were probably right to let Werner go. Since then, they have brought in Nicolas Jackson, who is already one Premier League goal away from matching Werner’s combined tally from the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.

Jackson has improved over the last few weeks, scoring against both Newcastle United and Brentford this month.

It has been reported that the Senegal international has made changes to his sleep routine and diet to improve his performances.

Jackson does not have a Champions League medal, and it does not look like he will be getting one any time soon with how Chelsea have played this term. But the former Villarreal man does look like quite an upgrade on the likes of Werner and Kai Havertz, with the latter having also not been the most prolific forward during his time at Stamford Bridge.
