Chelsea had a couple of players involved in England’s friendly against Brazil at Wembley last night.

Both Ben Chilwell and Conor Gallagher started the game but could not prevent Gareth Southgate’s side from falling to a 1-0 defeat.

Endrick, the 17-year-old forward set to link-up with Real Madrid this summer, scored in the 80th minute of the match, which was enough to beat the Three Lions.

Just returning from injury, Chilwell is not at his best yet. That, however, did not stop Chelsea fans from going on X and criticising the left-back for his display at Wembley.

“Chilwell this is the WORST performance OAT,” one Chelsea supporter said.

Another wrote: “Hall of shame performance by Chilwell.”

Who are England’s next opponents?

Chelsea fans will have to wait a bit longer before they get to see their team play again.

There is still another set of international fixtures before club football returns, with England scheduled to play another game at home.

Southgate’s men welcome Belgium to Wembley on Tuesday, and it will now be interesting to see if Chilwell starts that match. As he builds his fitness up again, Southgate may want to be cautious with the 27-year-old.

Having just got him back, Mauricio Pochettino will not want another injury, while having him out on the training pitch at Cobham could have a good impact on some of the young players at the club.

Dujuan Richards recently spoke about how effective the England international is in one-v-one situations.

If Chilwell picks up another injury, it is almost certain that Chelsea will sign a new left-back in the summer. The Blues are already being linked with a few names, including Fulham’s Antonee Robinson.

Robinson has been a key player for Marco Silva this season, making 35 appearances in all competitions under the former Everton boss, but it looks like there is a possibility that he could leave Craven Cottage for Stamford Bridge at the end of the campaign.
